James Bland is an Emmy nominated actor, writer and director who excels both in front and behind the camera. He is the creator, showrunner and star of the coming-of-adulthood drama series Giants in which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Digital Drama Series. 

A multi-hyphenate who views filmmaking as his ministry, James began his career working under producers and creative executives at Sony Screen Gems. While navigating the studio world, he wrote and directed numerous award winning short films including the BET Lens on Talent finalist Cocoa Love and the Cannes Short Film Corner Select Thula. James then went on to work as a digital producer for shows like The Soul ManYounger and All In With Cam Newton.

Currently, James serves as CEO of James Bland Productions, a full service production company focused on creating original premium content for film, television and digital platforms. His company's most notable project Giants has been praised for authentically capturing the black millennial experience and has won Best Drama Series at the Streamys, Indie Series Awards and International Academy of Web Television Awards. In 2018, Giants was the only digital series to receive a Voice Award for its contribution to behavioral health understanding and mental health awareness.
